Our clients asked us to help address the following concerns with Chemical Injection Systems.
- Existing systems were unreliable ( frequent valve failures due to chattering )
- Unconstrained flow of chemicals from line to wellbore was often occuring, resulting in the potential for formation damge, line depressuriastion and chemical boiling / blockage within the line
- The check valves were not metal/ metal and the valves didnt meet V1 specifications, as such they were the weak link in the primary well pressure containment envelope
- The wellhead penetration ( part of the secondary well pressure containment envelope) was susceptible to damage.
Our solution was a brand new chemical injection system, including
- A well barrier accreddited ( v1) metal metal seal downhole chemical injection valve which is specially designed to address all of the first 3 challenges listed above
- A chemical injection variant of our wellhead safety valves M- SAS-C which addresses the 4th challenge
- A unique software tool to predict the chemical injection valve spring settings required to ensure line drainage will not occur at any stage during field life.
